The Face Off: My must have Face Primer

IMG_0226Ok so I have picked another fairly pricey product to review however I couldn’t resist blogging about my latest purchase! Once I had seen Victoria Beckham had raved about this product I was even more tempted to give it a try! So here is my own personal review on…

The This Works ‘in transit camera close up’ which is cleverly a  3 in 1 combined mask, moisturiser and primer in one handy 40ml bottle! Priced at £30 on www.lookfantastic.com its a definitely a ‘must try’ product or at least one to put on your wish list as a special treat. But be warned ladies you may become hooked on this primer like me!

Directions for use

Simply apply  to clean skin, including eye area and massage gently until all product is absorbed. your face and neck should feel slightly dewy and primed read for your makeup. This award winning product really does keep your makeup in place throughout even the longest of days at work.

IMG_0233My Verdict

A very respectable 9/10

I don’t claim to have tried all primers on the market but I have tried a few scaling from cheap to pricey this is definitely one of the higher end products on the market but baring in mind it does 3 different things in 1 bottle ….. well you can’t grumble at that!

Have you tried this product? I would love to hear your thoughts?

Happy Monday People

Urban Decay: Naked2

After being offered a new job this week, I promised to treat myself to a little something.. Now I know I’m a tad late on this, but I chose to purchase the incredibly popular Urban Decay Naked2 palette. I read a review that the Naked2 palette is suited for blue eyes and they were spot on! It contains plenty of golds, taupes, and shimmery greys all ideal for enhancing anyone with baby blues eyes!

SIMPLY THE BEST Concealer Ever: Benefit Boi-ing

IMG_0126Ok so saying that this is the best concealer is definitely a BOLD statement to make… (as I am the first one to admit that I haven’t tried EVERY concealer out there)! However I still stand by this little gem! It truly does exactly what it says on the box…. its industrial strength properties really do give you a great coverage and will cover any blemish with a natural but professional finish.  I tend to apply this under my eyes and around the nose and chin area. This makes for an excellent base to then apply your foundation for a flawless look. I have tried many other concealers in my time but this is trusty one I always go back to and although it may be a little more pricier compared to other products on the market it will last you a good while!

Boi-ing is priced at £17.50.   To buy your Boi-ing Concealer click here to visit Benefit’s UK website

Have you yourself tried this product, I would love to hear your thoughts & comments

Thanks for reading & happy concealing!

December GlossyBox: the review

IMG_7085

After receiving my first GlossyBox in November I was more than looking forward to December’s box arriving on my doorstep and I wasn’t disappointed! Contained within December’s goody box was;

1) TRESemmé Renewal Hair Scalp Nourish & Renew Tonic (£5.50) www.tresemme.co.uk

This full sized bottle claims to nourish and renew your scalp after first use with its tea tree extract and sunflower seed oil. To apply, tilt head and use the nozzle to lift hair in sections and aim to target the root of your hair. Comb treatment through and style as usual, there is no need to rinse!

2) Bellapierre Cosmetics – Cheek & Lip Stain (£12.99) www.bellapierre.co.uk

This clever 2 in 1 cheek & lip stain is every girls must have handbag hero! This versatile little pot can be used as a beautiful lip stain and at the same time can be blended along your cheekbone to create a rosy pink hue!

IMG_7107

3) Anatomicals – Zap! Zap! Zap! Gets that Chap! Day & Night Spot Stick (£3.79) www.asos.com

This 2 in 1 day & night spot stick really does attack those unwanted blemishes and spots that can rudely turn up at the worst moments!

4) All that Jazz – Professional Nail Lacquer (£9.98) www.allthatjazz.com

Dark blues, purples, navy’s, black nail varnish shades are all the rage at the moment! So this little bottle of petrol blue goodness is bang on trend!

5) Skin Pep Hydra Boost – Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum (£24.99) www.skinprep.com

This little bottle claims to promote a healthy new skin glow effect using its clinically proven cell communicating ingredient, hyaluronic acid. This powerful little bottle certainly worked wonders on my skin, when I applied it after removing my makeup!

Overall Verdict

Another fabulous selection of goodies from GlossyBox – can’t recommend this enough! My favourite item in the box has to be the bellápierre cheek & lip stain – go and buy yours now!

Thank you for reading – sending lots of love

How to pick your perfect pout!

IMG_2278

Have you ever walked into Boots or Superdrug going in for one thing and walked back out with a bag full of items that you didn’t expect to buy and you are not really sure if any of the colours suit you…! Well this happens to me often. So I wanted to share this clever little colour palette guide that I found to help you (and your purse) from any expensive makeup shopping trips!

I tried this palette test out on three different friends… (all with different skin tones) the results were spot on and some friends were shocked to see how some of colours on the chart actually suited them!

I myself am a mixture between a fair + medium complexion therefore I can cheekily mix between the top 6 lip colours as shown on the chart. for the lighter shades I tend to buy my shiny lip glosses and for the darker shades I plump for the bold matt lipsticks or crayons as they are now known on the market.

Feel free to screenshot the chart and use when you are next out shopping it helped me loads when buying lipstick, lipgloss, lip glaze, lip balm, lip stain (I could go on but you know what I mean) there is so many products available that sometime buying a lip can be a bit overwhelming – I hope this helps you like it did me!

Thank you for reading

November Make-Up Must Haves…

IMG_6749

When asked what make up I couldn’t be without, I struggle every time! Having looked in my Make-Up bag I managed to narrow it down (the best I could) to my absolute fave items for this month of November! However I chose the following three items to review and share with you;

1) Benefit Lemon Aid

I cannot live without Benefit’s ‘Lemon Aid’ eyeshadow primer. Don’t let the yellow tone put you off, its ideal for reducing redness and helps create a perfect base shade whilst priming the eyelid.

2) L’ORÉAL Skin Perfection Moisturiser

With the colder weather arriving and the heating now on, our skin is in more need than ever to take extra care in the mornings and I love using L’ORÉAL Skin Perfection moisturiser (pictured top right). It acts as a great primer too due to its rich texture and doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily or greasy. Priced at £9.99 in boots.com

IMG_6773

3) Benefit Erase Paste (No 2)

Another Benefit item I couldn’t live without is their ‘Erase Paste’ Concealer in shade number 2.  This concealer is a thick paste like consistency with its brightening formula it really does erase any blemishes and create an illuminating effect. Whether you want this to brightening your under eye area, hide dark circles or cover up blemishes this little pot will do it all! I use this daily and apply using a small concealer brush as the paste can get a bit mucky if you use your fingers. Priced at £20.50 in my opinion it really is worth the spend.
