After receiving my first GlossyBox in November I was more than looking forward to December’s box arriving on my doorstep and I wasn’t disappointed! Contained within December’s goody box was;

1) TRESemmé Renewal Hair Scalp Nourish & Renew Tonic (£5.50) www.tresemme.co.uk

This full sized bottle claims to nourish and renew your scalp after first use with its tea tree extract and sunflower seed oil. To apply, tilt head and use the nozzle to lift hair in sections and aim to target the root of your hair. Comb treatment through and style as usual, there is no need to rinse!

2) Bellapierre Cosmetics – Cheek & Lip Stain (£12.99) www.bellapierre.co.uk

This clever 2 in 1 cheek & lip stain is every girls must have handbag hero! This versatile little pot can be used as a beautiful lip stain and at the same time can be blended along your cheekbone to create a rosy pink hue!

OPI’s Best Ever – Glitter Nail Polish

I am often asked what I consider to be the best glitter polish…! My answer is always simple…they are all much of the same….. because lets face it glitter is glitter isn’t it?! I now stand corrected since using OPI’s ‘Desperately Seeking Sequins’ polish…. if you want a good quality glittery, sparkly, shiny, glossy, silvery, sequinned polish then this bottle is definitely worth a buy & try!

Tips when using your glitter polish….

  • Shake your bottle of polish really well before use
  • You can heat your polish up, by rolling the bottle in the palms of your hands
  • Turn the bottle upside down before use – this moves the heavier glitter/sequins from the bottom of the bottle
  • Press the glitter polish onto the nail – do not brush the polish across the nail bed, as this drags the glitter and ultimately undoes all your glittery work!

Happy glittering …!

Hand Revival – Soap & Glory Hand Food

IMG_6736
I try my best to empty my handbag regularly – all women carry EVERYTHING with them for that ‘just in case’ moment…! However Soap & Glory’s ‘Hand Food’ cream is something that I always find an excuse to keep in my bag! It smells amazing, has a non-greasy formula that actually works and my hands always feel soft and moisturised even after the first application! I have also noticed that my cuticle and nails benefit an awful lot from this cream! Definitely worth keeping this one in your handbags ladies!!

You can buy Soap & Glory at your local Boots store (click here for the link)

Autumn has arrived..!

OPI 'Sleigh Parking only' (Left) and 'Black Cherry Chutney'

OPI ‘Sleigh Parking only’ (Left) and ‘Black Cherry Chutney’

Autumn is officially here and I used this excuse to recently purchase these two ‘deep purple’ OPI shades from my local beauty supplier. Both shades are ideal for the Autumn/Winter season and OPI never fails to deliver a long lasting glossy polish for your nails. ‘Sleigh Parking Only’ (pictured above; left) is a more matt aubergine/deep plum shade and this is perfect if you have shorter nails like me. ‘Black Cherry Chutney’ has a deep purple shimmery tone to it with an almost gold two-tone effect.  Be aware that applying more than two coats with either shades can create a dark almost black shade and you can lose the deep purple shade if ‘over-applied’.

A little bit of sparkle…!

IMG_1341

With the Christmas period only around the corner, I thought I would practice some of my sparkly ideas for this festive season that is fast approaching…! Nude pastels are all the rage at the moment and I wanted to use these shades to really set the glitter off! To create this look I used NSI’s “Purely Pink Masque’ acrylic powder to build up the acrylic tip and once set I used Essie’s ‘Muchi Muchi’ (No 17) shade as the base coat. For the sparkly bit I brushed on OPI’s ‘Desperately Seeking Sequins’ across the tips of the nails and set this in place with a gel effect top coat. Of course this design can be created using all manner of colours of base coats and glitters!
